Unemployment Increased in Hong Kong

The unemployment rate in Hong Kong has increased in August – October compared with July – September 2008.

According to the latest labour force statistics released by the Census and Statistics Department, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased to 3.5% in August – October 2008 from 3.4% in July – September. The increases were mainly in retail trade, transport, import / export trades, hotels and storage. [ more ]
