Using Keywords in a Search

- Single Character Search.
Single digit or single character searches (such as "a", "5") will not be recognized by the search engine.
- Case Sensitivity.
The 'keyword' field is case insensitive. For example, entering accountant will give the same results as ACCounTant.
- Punctuation and Special Characters.
Punctuation and other special characters like period (.), semi-colon (;), colon (:), etc. will be ignored in the search.
- Boolean Operators.
Boolean operators including "OR", "AND", "-", "+"are NOT supported.
- Wildcard Searches.
Using wildcard characters like "*" and "?" in the search terms are NOT supported.
- A comma or space between keywords means OR.
- Avoid using unnecessary terms/words such as "a", "the", "with", etc. which may be ignored by the search.

Search Types

Search types work together with the keywords entered to build an appropriate search request:

- Exact Phrase.
This search type will give you only jobs that have content matching the exact phrase you entered. Do not need to use quotations (") with this search type as it will automatically search the entire contents of the keyword field as an exact phrase.
Example: A search for "Sales Manager" will give jobs only with the exact phrase "Sales Manager" and it will not give jobs with the single word "Sales" or "Manager" alone.
- All of These Words (AND).
Results will contain every word you have entered in the keyword field - but not necessarily together.
Example: A search for "Sales Manager" could include a job with the title "Operations Manager" and a description that mentions "sales" requirements. If only one of the terms is found, the job will not appear in the results.
- Any of These Words (OR).
Search results will contain one or more of the words you have entered in the search box.
Example: A search for "Sales Manager" will give you jobs that include the word "Sales" or "Manager" or both words.

Search Fields

You may select to either search the full text of the job listing or only the position or company names.

- Position
If you are looking for a very specific position or job title, select this option.
Example: Enter "Accounting Manager" will give you all vacancies with "Accounting Manager" in their titles.
- Company
If you are interested in a particular company or employer, select this option. This will limit your search to show jobs from a particular company or employer only.
Example: Enter "JobsDB" will give you all vacancies posted by "JobsDB".
- All Text
If you wish your search to be more expansive, select this option. Keyword searches are performed on Position, Description, and Requirement elements of a job posting
