TOP REASONS WHY EXERCISE IS GOOD FOR YOU

There is a constant need for us in the workplace to continuously “raise the bar.” We have one suggestion: TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. We cannot enjoy and last our journey in life if we are out of shape. But getting “fit” is easier said than done.

You need to know why you have to keep in shape – that’s one reason for the motivation that will get you up in the morning to sprint 20 minutes or lift those weights.

Here are a few but important reasons that you should tell yourself every time you feel yourself slackening:

1. YOU WILL LOOK GREAT.

Exercise is the best way to look great, lose inches, get your body into better shape, have clearer skin and glow toxic-free smiles. During weight training or strength exercises, you burn calories while beefing up muscles. Compared to fat,  muscles burn calories faster.

2. EXERCISE MAKES YOU SMARTER.

Brain and brawn actually make a good pair! Physical exertion results in a denser neuron network which enables the brain to better process and store information, resulting in a smarter brain. Research posts that while exercise will not transform people into Einsteins, the sympathetic activity improves cognitive skills and helps sharpen the brain over the long term.

3. IT KICKS THE BLUES.

When the body temperature rises during workout, brain chemicals called endorphins are released. Endorphins are responsible for elevating our mood, making us happy and confident about ourselves.

4. IT MAKES US HEALTHY.

In a study of 80 executives over a 9 month period, those who exercised regularly showed a 70% relatively improved ability to make complex decisions. Strength training has been shown to strengthen the heart and increase overall energy and speed metabolism.

5.  EXERCISE IMPROVES PERFORMANCE.

A study in the Journal of Ergonomics concluded that “mental performance was significantly better in the physically fit than in the un-fit. Fit workers committed  27%  fewer errors  on tasks involving concentration and short term memory as compared to un-fit workers.” Exercise makes you more relaxed, more patient, and less tired.

The lesson of the story? You can change if you want to.
Change your mind. Change your body. Change your life.
