Qualifications and Trainings for Nurses (Department of Health-UK)

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing
• Holder of current Philippine Nursing License and have obtain board rating of at least 77%
• Minimum two (2) years experience in acute care hospital nursing and relevant specialist area
• Employed at the time of application (not private duty nursing or voluntary)
• Employed in a tertiary hospital of a minimum 100 bed size
• Proficient in English communication

Documentary Requirements in Applying

• Resume / Bio-data
• School Credentials & Transcript of Records (High School and/or College Diploma authenticated by DepED or CHED)
• PRC License (for Nurses)
• Employment Certificate/s
• Birth Certificate (authenticated by the National Statistics Office)
• Passport
• NBI Clearance
• 2 passport size pictures

PROCEDURE FOR AGENCY HIRES

1. Verify with POEA the license and job order of the agency
   (Hotline: 722-1144/55)
2. Apply with the agency (if selected)
3. Undergo Interview & Medical Examination at a DOH accredited clinic   (3days)(while waiting for visa)
4. Attend PDOS with an accredited PDOS Provider  (1 day)
5. Obtain e-Receipt & e-Card

PROCEDURE FOR GPB SPECIAL HIRING

1. Application ON-LINE via INTERNET: www.nursinguk.nhs.uk
2. Interview by employer via Video Conference or Personal Interview
3. Undergo medical examination at a DOH accredited clinic (3 days) (If selected)
4. Attend PDOS at POEA (1 day) (While waiting for visa and processing of POEA documents)
5. Pay the necessary fees at POEA/OWWA cashier
6. Obtain e-Receipt & e-Card

PROCEDURE FOR NAME-HIRE

1. Apply for visa
2. Submit documents to the Name-Hire Processing Center for Evaluation
        Requirements
        - Verified Employment Contract
        - Resident Visa stamped on the passport
        - Passport
        - 2 Passport Size Pictures
        - Payment for Fees
3. Take Medical Examination with a DOH accredited clinic (3 days)
4. Attend PDOS at POEA (1 day)
5. Pay necessary fees at POEA/OWWA Cashier
6. Obtain e-Receipt & e-Card

Terms and Conditions of Employment

• Position of adaptation nurse during the adaptation period (3 – 6 months)
• Position of registered nurse upon UKCC registration
• Not required more than 6 months supervised practice in acute hospital setting - before the UKCC will consider for UKCC nurse registration

•  It is illegal for employer to keep the workers' passport and money.
• Have your original copy of your marriage contract and birth certificate of children for tax exemption 
• Worker cannot change employer or job without finishing the contract
• Respect British tradition, customs, practices and strictly observe all their laws and regulations
• Prior to leaving, open a savings account in the Philippines for remittance purposes.
