A
CULTURAL WORKER’S FIRST MANUAL
Essays in Appreciating the Everyday
By Felice Prudente Sta. Maria,
2001.
Softcover, Anvil Publications, 311 pp.
Using over 70 essays
that appeared in the pioneering weekly opinion-page
column on cultural development from 1989-1996, this
first primer explains the vital role history and
the arts have in preparing a people to handle their
future. It also argues for leadership to tackle
its cultural responsibilities as inherent to any
policy-making and space development. It reminds
readers how important it is to harmonize heart,
soul, mind, and purposefulness to ennoble one’s
humanity.
